Ghana Women awards
The premier awards ceremony aimed at celebrating the success of women of excellence in various facets of the society was instituted in 2009 by Brein Consult in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Welfare.
The maiden event was held at Alisa Hotel on 30th May, 09 and Twenty (20) distinguished and outstanding Women were honoured and awarded in their various fields of discipline which includes, Dr Mary Grant-Legendary Woman, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings- Women Empowerment Award, Mrs Grace Obeng-Outstanding Beautician, Maame Afia Konadu- Outstanding Female Presenter and etc. The event is designed to unveil the outstanding females in the various sectors of the economy who have and are contributing significantly to the country’s development and are role models to most of the Youth.
Vision
The vision of the Awards is to honour our precious mothers and women in the country for the extraordinary roles they play in the society.
RATIONALE OF THE AWARDS
Undoubtedly, women contribute tremendously towards nation building, yet are not really acknowledged and honoured for their immense effort in both domestic and economic activities.

We believe honouring and appreciating the pain and tears of womanhood will inspire them to take up the mantle of leadership and responsibility thereby contributing to the overall national development and the entire global village.

To embrace and express interest in their social contributions toward socio-economic development.
To encourage the women of substance to keep their flame burning.
To highlight the relevance of women in our social lives.
To identify and appreciate the female role models for our future generations.
To acknowledge the effort of women in the society.
To honour our mothers who have contributed drastically to the development of our country.
To encourage other women to strive for greater heights in the economy.
CREDIBILTY
Ghana Women Awards is an evidence based awards scheme designed to showcase the journey of excellence women in both public and private sector making significant impact in the society. The mechanism for selecting the nominees in the public sector is structured to fetch out the outstanding women doing amazingly well.

The Awards is in two parts; Public Sector Awards Categories and Private Sector Awards Categories.
Award Management team writes to the management of the various public institutions requesting for two outstanding women who have worked over 20 years and have excelled in their field of discipline supported with their CV’s and are impacting lives.

The event research team will undergo series of investigation about the nominees and present the findings to the event board upon which the deserving one would be profiled on TV.
In respect of the private sector nominations, the research team will recommend women who have worked over 20 years and are impacting lives in the society to the award board to evaluate and short list them to the various categories.
Some of the categories would be advertised in the Daily Graphic and social media for the public nominations.
