Ghana Women Awards 2024 is 100% evidence based award scheme seeks to promote Gender Equality and empower all women and Girls to do more and better. The event is designed to identify, recognize and reward women who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavours.

THE NOMINEES TV DIARIES
The Ghana Women Awards TV diaries is a 30 minutes magazine program designed to showcase all the nominees profile to the general public.
The magazine show will show indebt analysis of each nominee career journey, achievements, challenges and vision as motivational tool for the youth and the Girl Child. The diaries would be shown on TV, Social Media, Press and other electronic medium as evidence based for the public to know the rationale behind the awards.
The Nominees diaries would be aired on TV3 and other TV stations for 13 weeks, from July- October, 2024 in which the life and achievements of all nominees, and referee statements will be aptly chronicled.
THE AWARD CEREMONY
The airing of the diaries will be climax with a physical event, which is the Ghana Women Awards ceremony to be held at the Accra International Conference Centre on 24th August, 2024 to celebrate womanhood.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
Even though the Ghana Women Awards is designed to celebrate the success of womanhood across all walks of life in the society, this year’s edition is poised towards promoting Gender Equality and empower all women and Girls. The theme for this year’s Ghana women awards is ‘Promoting Gender Equality and Empowering Women and Girls in Ghana’.
Objectives
Identifying, recognise and reward women making great impact and transforming lives in the society.
Create an award scheme that will transform and impact lives through a comprehensive mentorship program
Highlight the negative impact of child marriage in the society and systematic approach to reduce the canker
Design a communique to sensitise women and the general public on maternal death in country.
Develop a segment to campaign against gender’ based violence and harmful practices in the Country
The focus for this year’s event is to
Promote Gender equality
End Child Marriage
Promote Gender equality
Reduce Maternal Death and Maternal Morbidity
Special segments would be created on the nominees diaries to educate and promote Gender equality in the country. Workshop/Seminar and teasers would also be developed as part of the event to empower women and girls in the country.
Two folds; Mentorship Session and Nominees as Icons
The Ghana Women Awards event will not end after the Awards ceremony; a Mentorship session would be developed for young girls between the ages of 13-18 years for the awardees to mentor them.
Publication would be made on TV and social media for young adolescent girls within the age limit to apply.
Each awardee will adopt a number of the adolescents and they will undergo periodic mentorship workshops and training session to empower and enlighten them. Educational materials, online libraries, brochures and flyers would be developed for the mentees.
There will be systematic mechanism to follow up the Mentees progressive reports, organise periodic training and seminars to empower the Mentees. Their respective activities would be shown on TV and social media to encourage and empower the youth.
Some of the Nominees would be selected as Icons to educate and campaign against some of the social vices affecting women in the country.
- The Lawyer will be an Icon to spearhead the advocate campaign against violence against women in Ghana. As a Lawyer and women activist, we strongly believe she could use her office and inner capabilities to assist spread the campaign of violence against women and we believe this could help reduce the accidence of Violence against women in the country. Special TVC and promotional materials would be developed for her, to be played on TV and social media platforms.
- The Midwife will be used as an Icon to lead the crusade against Maternal Death in Ghana. She’s an expert in training pregnant women and good in advocacy, we believe branding her as an Icon to spread the campaign against Maternal Death and Maternal morbidity will help reduce maternal death drastically.
- The outstanding Girl Child will be assigned as Icon to advocate against Child marriage in Ghana. Beyond her title, she’s a Muslim and a Northerner, two areas where the ascendance of child marriage is on the increase in the Country. Being a Poet, she speaks the same language with the populace, it is believed that she could make an impact and possible reduce the stigma from the country.
Sustainability is a key element for this event, the team will develop a tentative capacity building seminars and training workshops to be held periodically at the deprived areas where the cases are on the rise. The team will document the progressive reports of all the Icons and their training sections would be shown on TV and Social Media.
Educational materials, brochures and flyers would be developed for the participants.
